Art + Feminism Edit-A-Thon Social
Art+Feminism is a campaign to improve coverage of gender, feminism and the arts on Wikipedia. It is a do-it-yourself and do-it-with others campaign teaching people of all gender identities and expressions to edit Wikipedia.
Why?
> Less than 10% of editors on Wikipedia are women.
> Wikipedia is the largest and most popular general reference work on the internet with more than 40 million articles in more than 250 different languages.
When we don’t tell our stories or participate in the ways our history is preserved, it gets erased. Gaps in the coverage of knowledge about gender, feminism, and the arts on one of the most visited websites in the world is a big problem and we need your help to fix it.
Come along to our free monthly social to join the campaign and become an editor on Wikipedia! Please bring your own laptop to use. Free refreshments will be provided.
We are offering a number of travel bursaries to support participants in attending our Edit-A-Thons. If you would like to apply for a travel bursary, please contact Gina Mollett (Learning & Community Coordinator).
