Improv In Notts

Running since 1998 is the MissImp Improv Theatre and Comedy Group perform improvised comedy in Nottingham and the East Midlands, with regular shows at Malt Cross, The Angel and Nottingham Playhouse.

The group is open to everyone at all levels, there are weekly drop-in workshops to courses available for complete beginners to the very experienced improvisers.

If you like the idea of improv but don't fancy joining in just yet then you could go and watch one of the regular shows. The MissImp Presents: Improv Comic Con! is A three-part nerd-fest spectacular with two of the UK’s best fantasy-themed improv acts at The Angel Microbrewery, Stoney Street is coming up on Saturday the 20th July 2019. Tickets in advance and on the door are £7 and £5 if you happen to be a student / unemployed / pensioner.

Got the cojones to jump straight in on the action then drop-in sessions are perfect for absolute beginners who’ve never been on stage! No comedy, improv, acting experience is required, you don't even have to be funny just need to willing to get involved and have some fun.

Gorilla Burger: Improv Comedy Carnage - Thursday 11 July 2019

The sessions are fun, supportive, with a welcoming atmosphere led by experienced performers and teachers. Drop-In sessions run weekly, every Thursday starting at 7:30pm and ending 9:30pm at Broadway Cinema where you'll be able to grab a well deserved drink afterwards. The second Thursday of each month session becomes Gorilla Burger, a show open to the public where you'll be able to perform on stage.
